Madoka at first looks like a guy who you don't want to meet on an empty street after the sunset. Besides his appearance, the way he talks, or rather, grunts and growls, his quick movements and short temper are enough to scare most of the people away from him. You could say it's a shield that he created unconsciously, as that's a completely fake image of him.

Once you get to know him better and break through the "I'll strangle you with my scarf" and "My existence itself is an embarrassment", he's a very nice and caring guy. Maybe his social skills on a scale from 1 to 10 are 0, but it doesn't mean he's a bad guy. Madoka is so awkward and clumsy, it's hard not to at least smile at some of his fails. Dropping a slice of bread butter-down and sobbing uncontrollably because of it may even make him cute for some people. Well, he's definitely not dangerous if you approach him slowly and make him get comfortable with you.

The only times when he's actually being flawless is when he has to do what he loves - pierce someone's skin with long needles and put some beautiful piece of metal through the holes he makes. Piercings and tattoos are his life since he realised he'll never be a good ninja! The only thing that actually makes him feel confident and just cool. A way to his heart is through some pain and even more pain, honestly. If you have a tattoo or piercings yourself, 10 points for you; if not - don't worry, he'll help you get some.

History: Madoka comes from a small family, he doesn't have any siblings, just him and his parents, who are apparently often called 'ninja'. They both work at a dojo in a small city somewhere far away from Las Vicio and that's where Madoka spent most of his childhood. Training hard. And then even harder. He wanted to be as good at martial arts as his father, but sadly, he had no talent at all and everyone could see it but him. Poor boy. So he trained more, watched movies, then trained even more, hoping the movies will help him. They've done more harm than any good though. One incident made Mrs Nagase ban him from even entering the dojo.

Luckily for him, he wasn't completely hopeless! Soon, his mother noticed her son might suck at martial arts, but he's actually pretty good at drawing. He was so focused on aikido and many more, his talent went comepletely unnoticed until his teenage years. So, instead of making him feel bad about himself, they let him become an artist.
Not just artist. That's boring. He needed something badass.
Tattoo artist. Much better.

At first he didn't really care about it that much. He still couldn't forgive himself that he wasn't able to follow his parents' steps. But years passed and it grew on him. First tattoo, second; first piercing, fourth... In the end, he was too busy drawing new designs and looking for a job to even think about what was bothering him earlier. The people living in the same small town that he did weren't really fond of the idea of tattoos, let alone piercings, which not only made him insecure about his passion, but also almost give up on it. Being constantly judged for doing what he enjoyed and looking what wanted to look like didn't help his problems.
Using his worried parents' advice, he moved out to start living on his own and experience a whole new life in a completely different city. His desire to make his life interesting, cool and badass made him look for his own place in Las Vicio. Gangs, night clubs, cops, heroes, game corners - that's what really dragged him there.
Soon, he found a job as a piercer and tattoo artist.
And he's definitely going to make his history much more interesting since now.
